WHS Senior Clementine Belanger Umps State Softball Finals

Softball has long been a part of WHS senior Clementine Belanger's life. But this season, she traded her glove for a face mask and found a whole new way to be part of the game.
After stepping away from playing, Clementine decided to become an umpire. This spring, she worked several Wenatchee Panther softball games before earning the opportunity to umpire at the WIAA State Softball Championships. She was selected to call the 3rd/4th place game, which is one of the most prestigious assignments an umpire can receive at the state tournament.
It's a remarkable achievement for any umpire, let alone a high school senior in her first season behind the plate.
